Helen Walthier
Artist and Creativity Educator
My art work includes a variety of media including oil, oil mixed media, watercolor, and recently I am learning about ceramics. Recent paintings focus on the concept of Sense of Place, and are inspired by an extensive love of travel, landscape, and design. Color, texture, and multiple layers play an important role in my work, expressing the complex nature of this magnificent world we inhabit.

I also study the creative process and conduct Creativity Interviews with people from diverse professions. I have taught art and lectured on Creativity at places including The Drawing Studio and PaperWorks. At Canyon Ranch I taught Creative Expression and gave Creativity lectures for four years. I am now available to teach about creativity and art around the country.

I have a Masters in Landscape Architecture and was on the graduate program faculty at the University of Arizona in Landscape Architecture for 6 years after several years in private practice. I was a Healthcare lawyer for many years prior to my career change to Landscape Architecture.
I live in Tucson, AZ but travel is an important part of every year.
My artwork is in collections in the United States and Canada. Art memberships include the Contemporary Art Society in Tucson, and the Art Students League of Denver. I served on the Board of Directors for 3 years at The Drawing Studio.
